Reading the book…
each book can absorb kappa times its own principal
there is none until the market settles and the floors are taken
A book can only absorb so much of the other side. When it runs out, stake is refused and refunded — that is the rule working, not a failure.
Per outcome, as the settler holds it.
| Outcome | Implied | Book P | Vested in V | Capacity C | Headroom H | Room for a stake |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Above $120,000 | 36.1% | 8,000.00 | 14,100.00 | 240,000.00 | 225,900.00 | 415,000.00 |
| Below $120,000 | 63.8% | 14,100.00 | 8,000.00 | 423,000.00 | 415,000.00 | 225,900.00 |
What one unit of opening stake is worth under each rule, sampled at every vintage.
The same money, the same books, settled under each rule. The difference is a number, not a claim.
Position #4 on Above $120,000, with 1,500.00 accepted. Both columns settle the same accepted principal on the same books, so the only thing that differs between them is the rule.
2,556.33
1.70x of stake
Principal, plus everything that vested to it since it entered.
4,143.75
2.76x of stake
Its share of the whole pool, whenever it arrived.
The classic rule would pay 1,587.41 more — 105% of the stake.
1.70x on the accepted principal
If this outcome wins
2,556.33USDC
Accepted principal plus what has vested to it so far. Anything that enters after you adds to this; nothing that entered before you can take from it.
The boundary is inclusive on the “above” side: a reading exactly at the strike resolves above.
Entries at or after this instant are refused outright. Resolution can only happen from here on, and the accumulator is frozen at it either way, so a slow resolver costs nobody anything.
A reading older than this is not trusted. The market voids and every position refunds at its accepted principal rather than settling on a number nobody should rely on.

keccak256 of the whole spec. Registering a different strike or bound produces a different id; it does not edit this one.
Resolution is permissionless: anyone may call the resolver once the freeze has passed, and the caller has no say in the answer and earns nothing for making the call. If the last reading is older than 1m, resolution reverts rather than settling — so a keeper retrying through a brief outage cannot void a good market by accident. Voiding on a stale feed is a separate, deliberate call, and it refunds every position at its accepted principal. Failing that, anyone may void the market from 26 Sep 2026 21:16 UTC.
